The main fields of studies at the Institute of Environmental Sciences are: evolutionary biology, physiological ecology, biodiversity in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, ethology, plant-microorganisms interactions, ecotoxicology and stress ecology. We are also active in environmental monitoring, nature conservation and ecological education.
There are 47 academic staff working at the Institute, including 12 professors, 8 associate professors (dr hab.), and 21 assistant professors and research assistants (PhD). Besides, 34 technical employees help us in research.
We teach students of the following curricula: Biology, Biology with Geography, and Environmental Conservation. Our teachers provide also lectures for students of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology. Our 50 PhD students participate actively in research and teaching. |
