Travel documents
Depending on the country of origin, different travel documents are required to enter Poland:
National Identity Card
Citizens of EU countries, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland can use their national identity cards as travel documents when travelling to Poland.
Countries whose citizens are not required to have a visa
Citizens of the following non-EU European countries are not required to be in possession of a visa when entering Poland for less than 90 days:
- Albania (only for holders of biometric passports)
- Bosnia and Herzegovina (only for holders of biometric passports)
- Croatia
- Macedonia (only for holders of biometric passports)
- Montenegro (only for holders of biometric passports)
- Serbia (only for holders of biometric passports non-residing in Kosovo).
Visa Requirements
Citizens of countries not listed above are required to be in possession of visa when entering Poland. To obtain a short-stay visa for taking part in scientific events following documents are required:
- Visa application form
- Color photograph meeting specified requirements
- Passport, signed and valid for at least three months after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the EU-Member States
- Invitation letter from conference organisers
- Proof of sufficient financial means
- Medical insurance with €30000 coverage valid in all EU countries
- Original employment certificate
- Reservation of tickets or proof of other means of transport to be used
- Consular fee for processing visa applications.
