Publications

Full papers will be submitted at the beginning of the Symposium during registration. A selection of reviewed manuscripts will be published in a special issue of European Journal of Soil Biology.

Guidance on the Length of Manuscripts

The Organising Committee of ISEE7 provide the following guidelines:

That poster presentations be allowed 4 printed pages
That oral presentations be allowed 6 printed pages
That plenary presentations be allowed 8 printed pages

As a rough guide, it is estimated that this might amount to 1800 words, including summary, references and legends, for poster papers, 3000 words for oral presentations and 4000 words for plenary presentations.
Reductions in word numbers would be needed to allow for figures.
Each figure could occupy from one third of a page to one full page.

The Editors of the special issue urge all authors to make a real effort to adhere to these guidelines because being concise (and clear) is in everybody's interests. However, the Editors are prepared to exercise some discretion and flexibility in individual cases, so that scientifically interesting and rigorous studies that cannot be presented adequately within the stated word limit are not excluded. Please note that normal peer-review standards will apply without exception: submission of a manuscript does not guarantee its acceptance for publication.
